Applying patches on DB2020 phones with JDFlasher

Tutorial to Applying patches using JD FLasher for db2020 phones,
Compatible phones
k530, k550, k610, k770, k790, k800, k810, and w580, w610, w660, w710, w830, w850, w880.

Ready ?????? GO!

Step 1

To work JDFlasher software , you need to install USB flash drivers to your computer.

Download USB Flash driver

Extract the rar file
Right click on ggsemc.inf and install.

Now switch off your phone.
Hold down the “C” button on your phone and plugin the USB cable
Windows will detect a flash device.
If Windows doesn’t install them automatically Enter the path where you extracted the flash drivers.

Well done step one completed

Step 2

Download Far Manager

Download Jdflasher

Start FAR Manager. Press Alt+F1, and choose Just Da Flasher

JD Flasher will initilizse and you get the following window and you can select
db2020 or q2020 as script,
DCU-60 as port,
921600 as speed.

Step 3

Applying Quick Access Patch.

If you already have applied the quick access patch then don’t apply the quick acces patch again. Skip this step and go to step 4

Create the quick access patch

Using your phone’s main firmware create the quick access patch using qamaker.exe !

Just drag and drop your phone’s main firmware .mbn file on qamaker.exe, qamaker is located at JDFlasher\2020_52\qamaker.exe !

Start FAR Manager, hit Alt+F1, select db2020 as script, and hit jump down into a large rabbit-hole ! Then connect your phone, holding C button.

Then JDFlasher will connect the phone.

Click or select bflash, and click yes. It will ask you to remove cable, and reinsert battery. Remove phone then click ok, and then connect the phone holding C button.

It will the db2020 bypass procedure, in the process you will be asked to remove phone and reconnect phone twice again, totally 3 times, and at the third time you will be asked to reflash your phone’s main. Its because main firmware is damaged during bypass, hence it has to be reflashed. On the right panel of Far Manger, navigate to the place where you have the main firmware file (mbn). Select it, and hit F5. On the dialog do not change anything, just press Enter. On the next dialog “as babe image” MUST BE selected. (and click “yeah, flash it“)

After a successful flash you get the following message. Click Ok

Now you the db2020 bypass is done we now apply the Quick-Access Patch. Navigate to the directory where you have the quick_access_XXXX_XXXXXXX.vkp file, select it and hit F5, again do not change anything on the first dialog, press Enter, and on the second “as a vkp patch” MUST BE selected.

After the quick access patch its applied you should get the following window.

So on the left panel we select “..” and hit Enter, then click yes.

Step 4

Start FAR Manager, press Alt+F1, select “just da flasher“. On the dialog select qa2020 as script (DCU-60 and 921600), click “jump down into a large rabbit-hole“. Connect the phone, holding C button. Select bflash and press Enter. On the right panel, navigate to the patch file(s) you want to write into the firmware. Select a vkp patch, press F5, press Enter on the first dialog, don’t change anything; and on the second, select “as vkp patch“, click “yeah, flash it“.

You can flash several vkp patches in one go, without quitting the program. Now if you’re done, flashed everything you wanted, just select “..” on the left panel and hit Enter. On the dialog click yes.

PS.: This JDFlasher can also be used to access the phone’s FS, so you can upload splash screens, sounds, flash menus and such stuff with it.

Tutorial flashing firmware/de-branding/customization with JDflasher.

Tutorial to Flasing using JD FLasher for db2020 phones, for k530 k550 k610 k770 k790 k800 k810 and w580 w610 w660 w710 w830 w850 w880.

JD Flasher flasher is now full fledged flashing and patching tool. It supports db2010, db2012, db2020 flashing and patching all CIDs. PNX5230 only flashing is supported. For A2 phones check out A2uploader. You can find out about phone platform from the phone database.

You can thus perform all customizations like uploading flash menus, acoustics, walkman skins etc.

Before You continue. Please wach this vedio...

Step 1

To work XS++ software , you need to install USB flash drivers to your computer.

Download USB Flash driver

Extract the rar file
Right click on ggsemc.inf and install.

Now switch off your phone.
Hold down the “C” button on your phone and plugin the USB cable

Step 2

Installing JD Flasher: Download Far Manager, either from official website or from JDFlasher+Far Manager !

Connecting phone to JDflasher.

Shutdown phone.
Start Far Manger.
Press Alt+F1, select JDflasher.
In script, choose a phone if available else choose script as db2010/db2020.
Speed select the max, and port is DCU-60 as always.
Hit Jump Down Into a Large Rabbit hole.
Reinsert battery.
Connect phone holding C.
Wait for Initialization.

Note on Exit: In order to successfully shutdown phone, you just move to root by clicking … option at the top and JDflasher will ask if you want to quit. Always exit after you finish your operations.

Getting back once you are in will at least 2 options and maximum of 4 options depending upon your phone and depending upon the script. All phones will get ofs/oflash. The four options are,

oflash >> Regular FW Flashing Mode to flash firmware/debrand/Crossflash.
ofs >> Usual Far Manager usage mode to upload thing to FS
bfs >> breakin FS mode with FS read.
bflash >> breakin FW flashing mode used for vkp and mod babe flash.

Step 3

Using JDFlasher !

Oflash/Flashing for Firmware/Debranding/flashing vkp etc.

Start JDflasher.
Connect phone to JdFlasher as said above.
Enter oflash mode.
On right side navigate to firmware location on computer.
Select firmware in the right side.
Press F5.
Click Copy.
Then Ensure that the option flash as babe image is selected. (babe for firmwares, mbn, fbn)
Click “Yeah Flash it”.
Wait for flashing of all blocks to complete.

You can flash main/fs using jdflasher. To debrand the phone flash both the main and fs. Also remember after flashing FS you need to add the CDA. Download CDA and copy them to tpa/preset/custom using ofs. If you forget to add the cda files to phone fs using ofs then you will end up getting a Configuration Error.

Step 4

Ofs/Customization:

Start Jdflasher.
Select script.
Connect phone as told.
Enter ofs.
Navigate in the file system and upload files according.
Check out the video given, it shows uploading of files to phone file system.
Using Ofs option you can upload flash menus, acoustics, camera drivers, skins etc
To exit from OFS you should move to Root by clicking … ! They finally click ok and exit jdflasher.

Important NOTES:

Note db2010 users: Make sure that the REST file for your phone is present in JDflasher Rest Directory. If not just use the mkrest2.exe to make the rest file. Just Drag your FS Fbn file on mkrest2 to get the REST file for your phone. Mkrest2 is given with JDflasher in REST folder.

Note db2020 users: If you use any of the breaking methods while using db2020 script then you will have to re flash main firmware always before exit.

Bfs/Breakin FS: Is same as ofs but with FS read, which means you can copy files from phone FS to your computer.

Bflash/Breaking Flash: Used to apply patches, can be used to flash firmware also. Now a quick tutorial to apply patches for db2010.

Connect phone.
Enter Bflash.
Navigate to patch on right side.
Hit F5.
Click Copy.
Ensure the option flash as vkp is selected
Click Yeah flash it.
Wait for patch flash.
Then apply more patches.
Then Exit by moving to root.

If you wanted to remove a patch, select the patch that you had applied, press F5, Click copy, then you will find the usual options and also a option to check/select remove patch. Select the option and hit yeah flash it.

k770 flash to some other ?? Yes !!!

You can flash your k770 to Some other DB2020 firmware using JDFlasher. (ex W880)

How to flash K750/D750 to W800

Warning !!!

Flashing phone will void your warranty! Rarely a phone gets damaged during flashing. I am not responsible for any damage caused to your handset while doing so..

this tutorial is for CID 36 RED phone.

Important !!!!
Your phone has to be fully charged before you start ,
if the battery is low, it'll may not work when flashing .

After flashing to W800 you will get

Walkman 1.0
If your phone is branded by for example O2, Vodafone or Orange, this will debrand it.

Oki Lets start the game step by step.....

Step 1

Download XS++ and install it on your computer

Now we are ready to Backing up the GDFS.

If th GDFS is damaged your phone might not work properly. The GDFS contains the calibration data of your phone.Therefore you should backup the GDFS of your phone before you do the flashing.

1. Switch off the phone remove the battery and reinsert it.

2. Click On Connect

3. Connect the USB cable to your PC while holding down the “C” button.

4. Choose the “GDFS” tab (in “Configuration” on the bottom right)

5. Click “Backup GDFS”

Step 3

Selecting the correct firmware for your phone

When XS++ connects the phone it will show your phones EROM CID and Color. You need find the correct firmware to flash your phone.
You have to match
1) EROM CID
2) EROM COLOR
3) REGION CODE

Region Codes: Firmwares are designed for different languages and specific regions.
If you want to debrand your phone you have to use GENERIC firmware files.

W800_R1BC002_MAIN_EU_EMEA_RED36 (Download: HERE)
W800_R1BC002_FS_*******_RED36 (Download: HERE)
(choose the right region,Check out the Languages Description find out which region you are in.)

You need to download Main firmware and File system firmware for w610 only. forget about the custom packs. I'll tell you when they needed.

Flashing the firmware........

Ok.. Now the danger part.... Be cool..

1. Switch off your phone. Remove your battery and reinsert it.
2. Connect your phone while holding down the “C” button.
3. XS++ will connect.
Check “Flash Main Firmware” and select your Main firmware
Check “Flash File System” and select File system firmware

4. Then press the “Flash” button.

This will take several minutes to compete the flashing.
Oki now your phone is flashed in to w800.

remove the battery and reinsert it ans switch on your 4n.

Have you got a problem ????
NO signals ha ??? Don't worry.

Now the Last part.
Customize the file system.

Repeat the above
1. Switch off your phone. Remove your battery and reinsert it.
2. Connect your phone while holding down the “C” button.
3. Check on Customize file system and select the phone model.
4. Select the CDA and Region
5. Then press the “Flash” button.

if the custpack you need is not implemented in XS++:
4. Download the custpack you need
5. Extract the files into the “own_custpack” folder in XS++ .Make sure that the first folder in own_custpack is “tpa”
6. Do steps 1. and 2.
7. Check “Customize file system”
8. Select “Own Custpack” in the “Select phone Model” dropdown menu
9. Press the “Flash” button
